I love comas. Not being in them, but as plot devices. Way too many times, I've found myself thinking something along the lines of - Melinda, you know what would be a great story? What if everyone in the world who is in a coma wakes up at the same time? And then . . . Usually, I don't have an answer for myself.
With Raven't Point, I finally figured out a whole story for a guy who wakes up from a coma. In case you don't like comas as much as I do (we're a small, yet merry, band), there's also: A girl who psychically communicates with animals! A guy who sees ghosts! A girl who time travels! You can't ask for more than that. Not in one book, you can't. --MM
